  This question is often confusing. Pharmacist must review State control substance dispensing regulations prior to dispensing. Alternatively pharmacist can call bureu of narcotics control of New York to find the answer.

  It is law. Rx written by NP is a valid prescription in NY state and does not require a counter signature of a collaborating physician.
