My pharmacy got reimbursed 71 cents (46 cents drug cost and 25 cent dispensing fee) for 30 tablets of Atorvastatin. I checked next door M & M candy price. They were selling small pack of 20 candies for $1.50. With all responsibility, liability, and pharmacist time, the pharmacy received equivalent of half the cost of small pack of M & M for dispensing 30 tablets of Atorvastatin. Total payment of 71 cents covered cost of 30 tablets, pharmacy processing fee, pharmacist professional fee, packaging, patient counselling fee, and other associated liabilities. This type of payment represents a robbery of a professional activity.
